The Hum FM collects as little about you as it can, never sells it, and only uses it to run your account and send you what you asked for. Here's the whole of it.
What we collect
- Your email + account. When you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password through our authentication provider, Supabase. That's the account.
- Payment. If you become a member, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe does, under its own bank-grade security. We keep only a Stripe customer reference and your membership status.
- The newsletter. If you sign up for Wren's weekly dispatch, your email is stored with our email provider, Buttondown, solely to send it. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Basic technical logs. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs (IP, request, timestamp) to serve the site and stop abuse. We don't build profiles from them.
What we don't do
We don't sell, rent, or trade your data. We don't run third-party ad trackers. We don't email you things you didn't ask for.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your membership while you're on the site. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Who touches your data
Only the services that make the station run, each as a processor handling data on our behalf: Supabase (accounts), Stripe (payments), Buttondown (newsletter), and Cloudflare (hosting). Each has its own privacy practices.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter any time using the link in any issue.
- Cancel your membership any time from your account.
- Ask us to delete your account and data — email us and we'll take care of it.
Children
The Hum FM isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above. Material changes to how we handle your data, we'll tell members about by email.
